  My self-worth does not actually depend on another poster's opinion of me.

  i've been trashed and bullied by one poster for posting info off the internet that i was offering to someone in need of hope.

  i began a thread on the subject of whether it is right or wrong to offer hope to someone in desperate circumstances in order that the poster could see that theirs wasn't the only opinion of any value.

  while most who responded were in agreement with the validity of being encouraging and offering hopeful info that can be looked into or not, it's the viewer's choice, that poster has continued his bullying, stating that i'm mentally, literally incompetent, basically stupid and irresponsible, though i'm so incompetent that i shouldn't be actually held accountable for my well-meant ignorance.

  Believe it or not, being bi-polar actually puts you in a better situation than me according to another poster who recently told me to 'grow a brain' (this may take some time in the evolutionary process!!)

  What comes out from your posts is that you are an intelligent and above all a very kind hearted helpful person. We shouldn't take seriously everything people say and especially rude comments.

  conspiracy theories after leaving or being disfellowshipped

  i need some feedback on treatment after leaving or being disfellowshipped: not necessarily about how you were shunned by family members, ex-friends etc.

  but please don't hold back if you would like to let me know about that aspect.

  i may relate one or two situations of my own if this thread gets going.. what i am looking for is: did you notice anything that might have been taken as attempts to discredit your name, sanity, credibility etc.

  Actually, Rosalyn, your friend being paranoid isn't far off the mark at all, considering. My last year or so in the WTS, the PO actually DID send an older sister to spy on us. She "befriended" us frequently visiting our home and going out in field service with us. When I confronted her about it, as I was getting suspicious of her motives for being with us, she admitted her faux "friendship" and told me who'd put her up to it.

  I don't put anything past 'em.

  Will keep your friend in my thoughts, chere.

  Is it wrong?

  is it wrong to give people hope when they've been diagnosed with an illness that can lead to much pain and death if not treated successfully?.

  i ask this because i just got a pm from an angry poster over my posting the following link and info on an antibiotic that bbc carried the news in regard to and was being researched by camcer research uk: http://www.rense.com/general58/anti.htm.

  also, i noticed that mary replied with this link to yet another site that showed a study at a university in canada had turned up another cheap, safe drug that kills cancer cells: http://www.wanderings.net/notebook/main/cheapsafedrugkillsmostcancers.

  ladies and or anyone else, i guess i'm just ignorant of much religious tradition, practice and policy.

  can someone explain the issue regarding sisters needing a head covering while praying.

  in the church it's taken to an entirely different level.

  In a highly mystical passage he says that it is a disgrace for a man to pray with a covered head and for a woman with an uncovered head this being equal to her having a shaved head. Why? Because woman is the glory of man and man is the glory of God.

  Well, now.....THERE's the problem, Greendawn. Should have read "myTHical. He doesn't even make sense if one really sets their mind on what he's saying. But then we weren't supposed to use our minds for thinking and examining things written in the WTS. I have to ask, "WHY???" WTH does a woman being the glory of man have to do with whether yer head is covered or not? And about man being the glory of God....that's a sad case of tunnel of fudge vision, if I ever saw one.

  Prophecor!!! When I saw your subject for this thread, I thought you were announcing you had farted and we should all duck and cover!

  On a serious note re: the topic of this thread, I think it's supposed to signify a woman's being in subjection to man/men/God and anyone else with a saddle.

  Sorry but how is someone to know that they will find your post offensive until they have read it.

  In the interests of equality I have to say I kinda feel this thread was unnecessary. I dont think the poster was bullying you at all. If they wanted to bully you or intimidate you they could have made a scape goat of you publicly. They didnt. In fact they said something privately. They didn't use my choice of words and perhaps lacked diplomacy or tact but they did make a valid point.

  Gee, Crumple. They can just ignore ALL my frickin' posts and that'll take care of it wouldn't it?

  In the interests of FACTS, this thread is very necessary for ME. If you don't like this thread GO AWAY. And for your info, and according to the FACTS, they actually DID vivisect and disembowel me PUBLICLY on the other thread when I did not in FACT even NAME them.

  If you truly believe, Crumple, that making a valid point should include calling someone mentally incompetent, stupid, ignorant, irresponsible, disgusting and shameful, then I merely suggest you'd see more clearly if you removed your head from that tunnel of fudge in which it is apparently lodged.

  I'm bipolar. This actually means that I mentally fly by the seat of my pants, however what I profer usually turns out to be valid and can be backed up in most cases. Being bipolar also guarantees that most of the time, my brain cells are rolling on all four wheels with no flat tires in sight.

  Well I've never quite heard it put like that before, but that's truly one to remember. I thought there was something wrong with me, now I see myself in a totally different light, thanks to you Frannie. It's wonderful to be a part of the fold.
